Common Moving Supplies

Every activity has its own set of tools that can make things a heck of a lot easier to perform. Obviously with sports each one has a specific ball, typically, or a way to compete against other people. And cooking? Well, there’s a whole slew of utensils needed to do different things in the kitchen efficiently.

But what about moving from one house to the next? Most people only seem to think that manpower is all that’s needed considering so much stuff needs lifted and carried from one house to the trailer and then the trailer to the new house.

What if I told you there were a lot of options when it comes to making your move a lot easier?

Here we’ve outlined a couple different moving supplies and what each of them do to make your move so much easier.

Moving straps.
These are primarily used for keeping your furniture and belongs strapped down nice and neat within the trailer. More than anything, this is to keep your furniture from being damaged and from damaging any of your other belongings that they could crush. Moving straps are relatively cheap and even come with ratchets to make it easier to tie things down nice and snug.

Moving blankets.
These basically look like sturdy little quilts. A lot of people say they’re unnecessary, but I beg to differ. You know how we just said moving straps are for securing furniture down so that it doesn’t move or shift? Well, moving blankets are for keeping furniture from rubbing up against one another or the trailer walls. Basically, it’s another layer of protection for your belongings so that nothing is scratched or ripped during the move.

Cardboard boxes.
Cheap moving boxes are amazing for packing all your little things into. While most people have a few boxes laying around their houscheape they can use, you can always get more cheap moving boxes online without any trouble whatsoever (and it won’t break the bank). Just remember to get corrugated cardboard since it’s a lot sturdier than other flimsy cardboard.

Handcart.
The ole dolly. The hand truck. Whatever it is you grew up calling it, this is an indispensable tool that you must have when moving unless you want to break your back picking every little thing up all day. Handcarts make it much easier to wheel around heavier items without needing to strain yourself.
